Iron and Steel Industry

Skamol has supplied insulating materials to the Iron and Steel Industry for more than 80 years and continuous product development efforts are made to meet the insulation requirements of the industry.

The first customers in this market was the Swedish steel industry. Back in the early years of the company, Moler bricks were used as back-up insulation in Cowpers,
Hot Blast Mains, Bustle Pipes and Soaking Pit Furnaces.

Today both Moler bricks and calcium silicate boards are widely used in various types of furnaces.

In the Iron and Steel Industry Skamol products are used as back-up insulation.
The superb thermal conductivity of the products is an important factor to conserve energy and to secure a good thermal efficiency in the furnace.
