Environmental Statement

Skamol's mission is: "We contribute to an optimal utilization of the world's energy resources and take part in protection of lives and properties in case of fire". When using our products, the amount of energy used to manufacture these products is typically saved by the customer within hours, whereas the lifetime of the products is measured in years.

Our policy for environmental issues states that:

In production as well as in the development of new production processes and products the quantity of waste is sought minimized or utilised.

As a minimum the company will produce under observation of all demands from relevant authorities as regards environment, health and safety. In case no claims exist in principal areas, the company will evaluate the need for setting up such claims.

For all plants objectives are set for environmental improvements as well as for health and safety, and plans to meet these objectives are made.

Skamol elaborates a voluntary comprehensive environmental report for each of the Danish factories every year in order to make continuous improvements and documentation of the environmental performance.

The work with environment, health and safety is managed by the technical director for the Danish operations and by the daily manager in the subsidiaries.

During recent inspections by "Arbejdstilsynet" (the Danish OSHA) all the Danish plants have been categorised in the best category for companies with "will and skill" to maintain a good working environment.

On this background we have decided not to implement a complete and certified environmental management system.
