The Russian plant was acquired by Skamol in 2010, but has produced diatomite bricks for the Russian market for many years. Through an on-going automation process we meet our customers’ needs and requirements for quality insulating systems with a high consistency across batches.
The raw diatomite material is excavated from a local diatomite vein, where the content of clay is virtually identical to the Danish moler. However, there is an interesting and useful difference: the fact that the Russian raw material contains less iron.
This means that the Russian diatomite bricks are both lighter and more acid resistant, which makes them interesting alternatives for specific industries with acid vapor exhaustion.
