Grate coolers

The essential characteristic of a grate cooler is a layer of clinker spread on a more-or-less horizontal perforated grate, through which cold air is blown.

Improve protection and decrease energy costs for grate coolers

Reduce energy costs

Fast and simple mounting

Extend lifetime of your production equipment

Find the system that fits your needs

In cement grate coolers, dense refractory linings backed by insulation materials often results in an unnecessarily heavy construction, which increases fuel expenditure. Furthermore, the lining can be at risk of alkali attacks, which increases maintenance costs.

Ensure your cement plant's production with our back-up insulation system

The SkamoCeramic Poros bricks, SkamoCeramic S-Isol and SkamoCeramic S-1100E boards are lightweight, top-of-the-line back up insulation systems for maximum protection of the overall construction, while reducing energy consumption.

The materials are designed to provide a full range of benefits in fuel-specific production conditions. However, common benefits include:

  • A reduction of the steel shell temperature, and better protection against thermal load.
  • Increases and maintains high air-temperature between rotary kilns and tertiary air ducts, preserving energy and reducing production costs
  • Reduction of the overall weight of the lining, compared to regular dual-lining solutions

Reliable and low weight insulation system for your industry

Both the SkamoCeramic Poros bricks, SkamoCeramic S-Isol and SkamoCeramic S-1100E boards are designed as lightweight back-up insulation system. They complement the often dense and heavy thermally conductive lining in the cooler, contributing to a reduction of the weight of the overall lining. The strong, lightweight profiles increase the quality of the cement and stabilize the production process.

The SkamoCeramic Poros bricks are specifically designed for productions where the refractory lining is at risk of acid attacks, providing excellent protection whilst maintaining their high-grade insulation properties.

SkamoCeramic S-Isol and SkamoCeramic S-1100E provide the absolute best cooler insulation properties, and are fast to mount, increasing production efficiency and lowering your energy expenditure. However, the boards are not suitable for productions where acid attacks are prominent.

Finally, our SkamoCeramic S-Isol and SkamoCeramic S-1100E boards can be composed with a water repellent surface, making them uniquely suitable for grate coolers when using casting compound, as the boards do not absorb damp from the compound. This allows production to reap the benefits of the boards’ excellent insulation properties, whilst enabling production to keep utilizing compound.

Put differently: We offer a comprehensive, professional and efficient insulation system to all your needs.
